Carlos P. Beltran

Carlos P. Beltran is a Venezuelan journalist, writer and director. He is currently based in New York City and works as a producer and visual journalist at NBC Universal documentary unit, NBC Left Field. His award-winning documentary work focuses on socio-political issues in Latin America (PASION, VOLUNTAD & PAZ).
In 2009, he graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in journalism and mass communication and a second degree in theater and film. Aside from working on independent documentaries, he also directed TV and online advertising campaigns in Venezuela from 2010 to 2014.
From 2014 to late 2016, he produced character-driven online documentaries for some of the most influential media networks in the United States, including National Geographic, Discovery Digital Networks, ABC News, MSNBC, NBC News, AJ+, Univision, The Atlantic, and The New York Post. He also directed branded content for companies such as GoPro, About.com, Pivot Desk, Take Part Productions and New Media Advocacy Project.
As a side project, he is currently directing a 10-part documentary series on the life of NBA player Greivis Vasquez (Greivis, The Final Shot), as he battles through physical rehab hoping to return to the basketball league.
