Digital media specialist (Topeka, Kansas)
Washburn University Human Resources seeks candidates for the position of digital media specialist in enrollment management.
The digital media specialist will assist in the development of the digital platform and implements the Enrollment Management's digital media strategy, raising brand awareness and engagement, generating inbound traffic leads, and enhancing recruitment efforts while safeguarding the university's online reputation. The ideal candidate knows what it takes to create compelling content, and apply core digital marketing disciplines including SEO, SEM, PPC, A/B Testing, digital analytics and optimization.
Optimize the digital media mix with the goal of yielding the highest quality lead responses and ROI. Develop go-to-market media plans for relevant cohorts addressing recruitment goals at each stage of the digital journey, based on their media consumption patterns, preferences and behaviors.
Project performance and establish a measurement framework for monitoring and optimizing digital media performance. Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of various digital tactics using analytics and media tracking tools. Implement strategy for paid and organic search engine marketing. Optimize web pages to drive traffic, engagement, and responses or registrations. This includes keyword selection, user intent, page optimization and linking strategies.
Build and mange social media profiles and presence, minimally including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, SnapChat and YouTube. Assessment and mastery of emerging channels as appropriate.
Develop a regular publishing schedule and create shareable content, consistent with communication plan and the recruitment cycle.
Monitor and engage in relevant social discussions about the University, its community and existing campaigns or initiatives. Generate consistent traffic and leads from our social networks to University websites. Monitor trends, identify emerging options, and make recommendations using social media tools and applications. Explore and identify new social networks or engagement opportunities to reach target audiences.
Apply knowledge of digital content and design. Understand general principles and digital content and effective UX design, including frequent iteration cycles and testing. Apply agile techniques, review what was delivered, its impact, and adjust plan accordingly.
Be an excellent communicator and work collaboratively with marketing and communication team to enhance recruitment and communication efforts in every level of the funnel.
Bachelor's degree required. One year of experience using the web and social media platforms in recruiting, marketing or related field. Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing social media management software to monitor social media conversations and activity.
Active and well-rounded personal presence in social media, with command of each network, their audiences and their best practices. Ability to use both data and experience to inform decisions. Strong project management skills.
Ability to speak and understand Spanish. Experience in the following is a plus: Adobe Creative Suite, demand generation, inbound marketing, chatting and blogging.
