Executive director for marketing, communications and external relations (Baldwin City, Kansas)
The Executive Director for Marketing, Communications and External Relations leads a team that is responsible for Baker University's centralized marketing function, including strategy and execution of various segment marketing, brand and communications plans. This individual serves as a partner to the Admissions and Advancement teams, and as an advisor and subject matter expert to the Executive Cabinet and Deans related to the design and implementation of marketing strategies, campaigns and messaging. The Executive Director represents the university with key external stakeholders, including community and corporate consituents, vendors and foundations. This position develops and maintains relationships that promote Baker University and result in new partnerships, gifts and an increased awareness throughout the community. The individual will also serve as a member of the Baker University President's Cabinet.
A bachelor's degree is required with 8 to 10 years of related experience in the areas of marketing, communications, community relations, lead generation or a combination of these areas. A master's degree is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to a team atmosphere are required. Must have proficient project management and organizational skills, with extreme attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in higher education leadership is preferred.
