Fall intern (Lawrence, Kansas)
The University Press of Kansas seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented intern to assist with production-related tasks for the fall 2017 semester. Intern will gain hands-on, resume-building experience in scholarly publishing.
This unpaid internship involves up to 10 hours of work per week; duties include digital archive maintenance, press-wide database data entry, file preparation and coding, proofreading, index editing, and EPUB quality control. The successful candidate will have excellent editing, proofreading, and computer skills; the ability to multitask; and an interest in a career in publishing. Preference to those candidates who are recommended by university faculty who can attest to student’s writing and editing skills. Internship may be eligible for course credit, as decided by student’s academic department. Applicants will be required to take proofreading test on-site.
