Senior Marketing Operations Manager, Alexa Skills at Amazon
Joe Garvey was born in Wichita and moved to Seattle after graduating from KU in 2011. He started his career in digital and social media advertising strategy at Razorfish, where he had the chance to support one his favorite brands (Nike), and he led worldwide launches for athlete signature shoes (LeBron James, Kobe Bryant) and developed brand management strategies for major sporting moments (2012 Olympics, Super Bowl 2013/2014). After leaving Razorfish, he joined Edelman (a traditional brand PR agency) to help develop the Seattle office's digital and social media brand management capabilities. He led social media content and paid ads strategy for Skype and Microsoft for three years in a dual-channel strategy and business development role. In 2017, he joined the former online bookstore called Amazon, where he now leads Marketing Operations for 11 countries on behalf of Alexa Developer Marketing (B2B). He's responsible for building digital advertising infrastructure and marketing performance and ROI measurement strategies. Joe majored in journalism/strategic communication at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
