Marketing communications paid summer internship (Kansas City, Kansas)

The KU Cancer Center seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist in communications, PR and marketing efforts for the organization. This part-time (20-30 hours per week) paid summer internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications and marketing while working for a nonprofit, health care organization.

Internship responsibilities may include:
• Assist with writing/editing/design/development and sending of marketing/sales collaterals (brochures, fliers, digital media, advertisements, etc.)
• Support social media efforts - may include content writing, planning, research, analysis
• Projects may include planning and onsite support of third party events
• Support PR and special event and other media-related tasks and projects
• Marketing planning and research
• Help out with other projects that support the mission of KU Cancer Center, as needed

• Must be current college student preferably in the related field of journalism, marketing, advertising, public relations or communicaitons
​• Understand the basic principles of communications, public relations and marketing
• Must be skilled in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
20-30 hours per week: flexible times/hours, May through early August 2017
