Marketing internship (Kansas City, remotely)
It is the mission of AngelPaws, Inc. to bring awareness to the general public about Assistance Dogs. To provide education on the talent and concentration of these animals and the amazing dedication they have toward their partners.
AngelPaws was founded by Shelly Shetley. Shelly earned her MSW from KU. She has traveled the country helping to educate people about disabilities. She has served on councils and committees to help with that. Shelly has also testified before House and Senate committees in both Jefferson City, MO and Washington, DC.
Through all of her travels with her Service Dog, Shelly encountered many people and businesses that were unaware of how to interact with her Service Dog and the laws that pertain to a Service Dog. With that in mind, Shelly set out to create a non-profit organization that would help to spread awareness of and about assistance dogs to people and businesses. AngelPaws was then founded in 2011 by Shelly to help with making the community aware of Assistance Dogs.
AngelPaws, Inc. is looking for 1-2 unpaid marketing interns to fill multiple roles. The same person could potentially fill both roles. With the exception of an occasional meeting or event, most work can be done remotely. The AngelPaws offices are in KC, MO. Bring your creativity and a passion for dogs, those in need of a service dog and a willingness to make a difference for our organization!
Position 1 - PR/Marketing Intern
This position is responsible for promoting the organization to the Kansas City community. This could include, but is not limited to: researching, contacting and talking to schools, businesses or other non-profits to find strategic partners, social media communication, some copy writing and design for various digital and print communication, PR and brainstorming new avenues of promotion to the KC community and more. The position is purposely left a bit undefined, as we are open to all ideas. We would like to have someone dedicate up to 5 hours per week for us.
Position 2 - Event Planning Intern
This position is responsible for assisting AngelPaws with various events (trade shows, presentations, etc.) that we attend each year. Most events are held during the summer. This could include, but is not limited to: finding relevant events in the KC area that would be a good fit for us, assisting with event registration, planning, promotion, setup and execution. We would like to have someone dedicate up to 5 hours per week for us, potentially more on event weeks.
