We have an immediate opening for a Media Buyer in our Kansas City, MO office. 

This is a full-time position responsible for managing integrated media buys across a portfolio of hotel and destination accounts. MMGY Media Buyers possess strong integrity and drive to deliver maximum value for our client’s media investments. Knowledge across digital, social, traditional and B2B channels is critical to the success of this role. An inquiring mind, positive attitude and desire to learn are also key as the world of integrated media is constantly evolving and the MMGY Media Department prides itself on being at the forefront of media innovation & ingenuity. A strong desire to contribute to an ongoing dialogue about the role and value of specific media channels and tactics is a valued characteristic of our Media Buyers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Digital, social, print, TV, radio and out-of-home media buying

  • Confirming and negotiating media rates
  • Processing Insertion Orders by media deadlines using various media buying software
  • Ongoing assessment and optimization of media placements to drive ROI and results
  • Billing, tracking and maintenance of client media budgets
  • Assisting with preparation of monthly digital media reports for client review
  • Working closely with Media Planner and Media Coordinator to effectively manage live campaigns
  • Pulling research from syndicated sources as needed for client presentations, planning and buying
  • Attending vendor meetings to gain & maintain a thorough knowledge of media options, partner features and market opportunities
  • Assisting with the oversight of Media Coordinator calendar and deliverables
  • As-needed assistance on the trafficking and tagging of digital materials
  • Troubleshooting digital tagging issues with Media Coordinator when needed
  • As-needed assistance with media planning
  • Participation in client presentations and internal, educational presentations
  • Miscellaneous administrative duties as needed

Additional Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Staying informed of industry trends and best practices with regard to media planning, placement, tracking and reporting         
  • Establishing professional and productive relationships within agency, media team and vendors

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum two years media buying experience in an advertising agency
  • Agency experience must include digital media buying
  • Thorough understanding of digital media tagging and trafficking
  • Social and offline media buying experience a plus
  • Knowledge of DoubleClick, Ads Manager, Strata and Workamajig a plus

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in advertising, marketing or communications
