Senior Director, editorial, NBC Sports Digital
Mike Miller (j’00) is the Senior Director, editorial, for NBC Sports Digital, which includes the “SportsTalk” verticals on NBCSports.com, Rotoworld.com and the NBC Sports and NBC Sports Scores apps.
A Wyoming native who transferred to Kansas, Miller covered the track and football teams for The Kansan and served as sports editor as a senior. He also worked on the nascent Kansan.com site, which led to an internship with msnbc.com after graduation. Miller worked prep sports at Kansas papers (the Osawatomie Graphic and the Lawrence Journal-World), but returned to msnbc.com as an editor in 2003.
He was at the helm for coverage for big events (Olympics, Super Bowl, World Cup), developed sports sections for the site and created a popular college basketball blog that launched when it re-branded as NBCSports.com in 2006. That writing and planning experience led to the managing editor role for the SportsTalk verticals, comprehensive news sites for diehard fans of the NFL, MLB, NHL and more.
Miller now goes beyond just editorial content, with a hand in the brand’s digital products, social media approach, sales fulfillment and live streaming. He and his wife, Heather, live in Connecticut with their children, Zoe and Dash.
