We are accepting applications for the above listed position(s). This is a great way to earn academic credit and gain field experience. Opportunities exist to combine an internship with a paid position such as front desk/teaching.

Interns also have the opportunity to network with high-profile members of the community. Workdays and number of hours depend upon assignments and specific needs. Current students and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

All interns are responsible for:
Assist with promotional activities and event management for special events.

Develop flyers, correspondence, and other materials such as newsletters and advertisements.

Help organize membership benefit events.

Perform administrative duties as needed.

Attend board, staff or event planning meetings as required.

An example of what marketing/PR/social media interns are additionally responsible for at PTC:
Assist manager with upkeep of website and additional internet marketing strategies.

Assist in developing proposals to corporate sponsors of tournaments and other events.

Assist in marketing strategies regarding membership services and solicitation.

An example of what sports/recreation management interns are additionally responsible for:
Assist with program development, including coordinating activities, securing donations, organize volunteers, setting up, tearing down at events.

Work special events at PTC in any capacity required.

An example of what nonprofit management interns are addtionally responsible for:
Assist with fundraising initiatives
Research on potential sponsors, donors and other philanthropic organizations

It is important that interns have the ability to develop ideas, follow through on program initiatives, deal effectively with the public and members and possess at least a basic knowledge of tennis or sports. (Many of our programs and marketing strategies are created with tennis as an integral component)

Experience with desktop publishing programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, InDesign, Photoshop) is highly desirable. Interns also need to be flexible in scheduling to allow for possibly working some evenings and weekends. Some of our events are planned on or around holidays (Independence Day, for example), so interns must be willing to potentially work some holidays.
