Staff proofreader (Overland Park, Kansas)
The Staff Proofreader is responsible for ensuring error-free publications. They will need to meet daily production deadlines in a thorough and detailed manner.
We are seeking professional, detail-oriented grammar experts to join our medical division as proofreaders. Our proofreaders are responsible for maintaining quality standards and ensuring error-free publications. They must be quick and thorough at reviewing content on a computer screen as well as in printed format. Successful candidates will possess advanced proofreading and computer skills, have an eye for detail, good organizational and communication skills.
This position includes comparative onscreen and hard copy proofing of publications. Proofing focuses on variable data. Proofing is for accuracy and must follow process and protocol.

• Proofing for grammar, spelling and style
• Quality assurance checks and validation
• Meeting deadlines
• Protecting client confidentiality
• Promoting our company reputation and values through personal appearance, resourcefulness and integrity
• Understanding and upholding the policies, professional standards and values of our company and the industries we serve
• Other projects as assigned
Proofreader candidates should have two years relevant work experience or have recently graduated from college
A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university, with a high GPA, is preferred
Candidates must exhibit exceptional proofing, organizational and time-management skills. Other relevant attributes include:

Candidates must have strong general office skills, including proficiency with Microsoft-based operating systems, excellent Internet knowledge, and other common tools, including the following:
