Videography internship (Liberty, Missouri)

About the program: Program's goal is to improve the health of Clay Center community working on identified health issues, using evidence-based interventions, via planning, policy development and community involvement.
Duties and responsibilities
To work closely with Epidemiology and Community Development, developing short videos utilizing recorded presentations from diverse community members, as part of the Diversity Advisory on Health Equity Council, to help community members and partners understand the diversity that exist in Clay, Platte and other neighboring counties in the greater Kansas City metro area. The intern will have to identify common themes among diverse communities (beyond race and ethnicity), identify key presenter's statements, and re-record them as theme videos, to be share with others via electronic media such as YouTube, website posting, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Intern will have the opportunity to learn about issues impacting health equity among very diverse communities, as an ongoing effort to make CCPHC more health literate. Other learning opportunities might arise
Days/hours needed: Open. Expected duration: Flexible
Preferred major: videography, marketing, communication
Ability to operate camera/videography equipment, ability to work in video editing software, excellent communication and interview skills, being able to identify key statements of presenters and opportunities to follow up or to identify additional sources. The ability to speak a foreign language is a plus, not a requirement.
