Content Creator


Baker University seeks qualified candidates to fill a Content Creator position in the Marketing Department.

The Content Creator is an integral part of the Marketing and Communications Department, serving on the creative services sub-team. The Content Creator is responsible for planning and executing engaging social media and promotional content for Baker University, primarily through curating videos and images. This individual also develops and manages content calendars, maintaining an understanding of the brand voice and messaging. Excellent writing and communication skills are mandatory, along with an understanding of which tactics work best on different social media platforms. A commitment to collaboration is essential for this role. The Content Creator will occasionally need to work evenings and weekends to cover university events.

Job Requirements

Must have: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field with a proficiency in social media platforms; proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite; experience using Hootsuite and Meta Business Suite; experience in photography and video production; familiarity with editing projects in Adobe Premiere; strong communication skills; and the ability to multitask and successfully work both individually and with a team.

Preferred skills include: ability to work in HTML; knowledge of publishing content in a CMS (WordPress); experience with Cannon cameras (R5C/R5/R6); experience capturing audio with on-camera, shotgun, lavalier, and portable mics; video scriptwriting and/or storyboarding experience; familiarity with exporting videos that are optimized for different platforms.
