Corporate Account Executive
Hours: 40 hours/week, non-union, exempt
Position purpose: Oversight of securing corporate support for PBS programming on-air, special events, online and social media relative to annual goals of the station.
Qualifications and Responsibilities
• Responsible for generating revenue for the station and. meeting monthly goals
• Responsible for prospecting with customers and lead generation
• Responsible for meeting with customers, assessing their needs and providing customized solutions that produce results
• Responsible for providing aggregated proposals to include broadcast, online mobile platforms and special events
• Responsible for selling sponsorships for station events
• Develops and implements strategies for cultivating new corporate support revenue as well as maintaining existing clients
• Develops and implements client follow-up activity, including contract oversight, credit scheduling and spot fulfillment
• Creates, reviews and submits worksheets and agreements to assure timely and accurate spots placement as reflected in agreed upon contract
• Oversees and schedules production resources for spot creation, if required
• Creates and submits corporate support information for the PBS Kansas website
• Creates presentation pieces relative to specific programs and sponsors
• Understands, interprets and adheres to underwriting regulations relative to the FCC, PBS and PBS Kansas in regard to creating messages for corporate supporters
• Will research and develop a "leads list" and prepare proposals for presentations
• Will prepare and maintain appropriate files and reports as required by PBS Kansas
• Understands and adheres to PBS Kansas policies and procedures
• Attends required station meetings and functions and serves on staff committees as assigned
• May be assigned other responsibilities and duties
• Prepare weekly report of sales contacts and results
Position Requirements
• A minimum of over 2 years media sales experience (or comparable)
• Bachelor's degree
• Knowledge of all facets of digital sales and marketing
• Proven track record of new business development skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as computer skills: Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Goal oriented
• The ability to overcome objections
• Valid driver's license, good driving record and reliable transportation
