Biography

Azhar Iqbal is a doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant at the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. He received his master's in advertising and public Relations from Ural Federal University, Russia. He earned his master's in communication studies from the Institute of Communication Studies, University of the Punjab, Pakistan. Before his master’s degree, he practiced as a journalist and served as a reporter for an English newspaper in Pakistan. His journalistic write-ups were published in The Educationist (Azhar is also the Co-founder of this newspaper), Maeeshat Media India, Our Russia and the Society of Professional Journalists. Before starting his Ph.D., Azhar served as a lecturer of Mass Communication at both the public and private universities in Pakistan. He has five years of teaching experience where he taught bachelor’s and master’s students various courses related to Mass Communication with a special concentration in Copywriting, Broadcast Media, Advertising and Public relations. He has co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles during his teaching tenure.
