J.J. DeSimone

J.J. De Simone is currently is the Managing Director of Data, Analytics, and Reporting for Teach For America, a leading nonprofit organization in education. Previously, J.J. worked as a data scientist for various industries, including marketing, insurance, behavioral health, and telecommunications, among others. His professional passion is in building and deploying predictive models, however, he loves all aspects of a data analytic project, including data mining, pulling, exploration, visualization and analysis. J.J. loves sharing his passion for analytics work with others. J.J. holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction and an M.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas (a 2009 J-School alumnus), and a B.A. in Mass Media from Baker University. A portion of J.J.'s dissertation was recently published in the peer reviewed journal, Teacher Development. He lives near Kansas City with his wife, son, and amazing dog.
