Biography —
Vaibhav Diwanji is an assistant professor in the William Allen White School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Kansas. He received his Ph.D. from the College of Communication and Information at the Florida State University. His primary research interests lie at the intersection of consumer behavior, new and emerging media technologies and strategic communication. His recent research has been published in a variety of journals including Computers in Human Behavior, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, and Journal of International Women’s Studies. In addition, he has presented his work at numerous advertising, marketing and communication international research conferences. Vaibhav also serves on the planning and organizing committee of the South Asian Media and Cultural Studies Conference organized by the Florida State University.
Diwanji’s primary teaching areas are strategic communication, advertising and public relations, message development and account planning. He has also taught a range of communication courses including multimedia designing, diffusion of innovations, writing media criticism, media techniques, online presence and public speaking.
Prior to joining academia, Vaibhav Diwanji held marketing strategy, communication, and research positions at different organizations in different verticals across three continents. He enjoys traveling, reading, and food.
