Social Media Manager


Set up and manage a YouTube account and channel for the Foundation to post its film "William Allen White: What's the Matter with Kansas."

Duties:

Liaise with YouTube to set up the channel and post the film and trailers in keeping with YouTube limits and requirements



Draft copy and create graphics describing the film that will attract viewers to the film

Draft other necessary copy, such as "About Our Channel"

Manage the channel and maintain the account, including answering messages, moderating comments, checking on analytics, providing the Foundation with questions, advice and suggestions

Write a monthly update on the Foundation on traffic, views and lessons learned on efforts to drive traffic over the previous month

Once a year, in advance of the annual WAW Foundation meeting, prepare an annual overview of traffic, data and any other items of note needed by the Film Committee to prepare its annual report to the Foundation

Drive traffic to the film through YouTube tools and other social media marketing

Requirements: Experience with YouTube channels, social media marketing skills, good writing, artistic eye, strong interest in journalism. Interest in history a plus. Hours: To start the channel, 20-50 hours of work. Once established, 2-4 hours a week.

Compensation: $12.50/hour
