Content Writer/Marketing Intern


City Wide Facility Solutions is looking for a content writer/marketing intern to join the marketing team for the summer. This role is responsible for helping to build out and implement a content strategy, including developing correlating materials (blog articles, website copy, content calendar, etc.). This role will also focus on writing, editing and proofreading additional marketing copy across multiple brands and platforms. An ideal candidate will be a strong writer who is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in fast-paced team environment.

Time: 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday; mix of in Lenexa office/hybrid

Essential Functions

• Research and suggest new content topics

• Help develop and maintain marketing content on company websites, including writing and editing blog articles, white papers, thought leadership content, etc.

• Work with other team members on our weekly/biweekly/monthly newsletter

• Collect campaign performance data from ongoing marketing campaigns

• Create reports and presentations using campaign performance metrics

• Brainstorm ideas for the improvement of our content marketing efforts and strategies

• Use tools and data from various sources, including SEMrush, Google Analytics, and Google Trends to update and enhance our digital content

Position Requirements

• Working toward a degree in copywriting, content marketing or a similar content role

• Experience writing blog articles and website copy - can be coursework

• Ability to share a portfolio of personally created content to support overall writing ability and style

• Demonstrated ability to meet content and project deadlines

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Highly organized and detail-oriented

• Excellent editing and proofreading skills

• Experience with Google Analytics and/or SEMrush a plus

• Sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents

• Regular travel by airplane and automobile in conducting business is required. Ability to communicate orally with franchisees, management, and team members both individually and in groups is crucial. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication

• Minimal lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required occasionally. Need good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment (computers, phones, mobile devices)
