Prep Baseball
This summer, I had the opportunity to join Prep Baseball Report as a Social Media Intern for the Midwest region. Since day one, I have worked alongside the Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Nebraska teams, helping develop content and creative ideas to showcase the incredible talent across the region.
One of my first projects was taking a deep dive into each state's social media presence to identify opportunities for fresh content, stronger storytelling, and new ways to engage athletes, families, and coaches. Entering this role after serving as a Social Media Intern with Kansas Athletics, where I worked with Kansas Baseball, has made this experience even more valuable. At Kansas, I assisted in telling the stories of Division I student-athletes competing at the highest level of college baseball. With Prep Baseball, I have been able to shift my perspective and experience the high school side of the game, showcasing athletes as they work toward earning those same opportunities at the collegiate level.
Seeing both sides of the baseball journey has given me a greater appreciation for the recruiting process and the important role social media plays at every stage of an athlete's career. While spending the summer back home in Minnesota, I have worked at more than 10 Prep Baseball showcases and events, helping highlight high school players throughout the recruiting process. It's been incredibly rewarding to create content that not only captures memorable moments but also helps athletes gain exposure during one of the most important periods of their baseball careers.
Beyond the creative side, this internship has introduced me to the operations and technology behind player evaluation. I've had the chance to learn more about tools like TrackMan, VALD, and Blast Motion and see firsthand how performance data is collected, analyzed, and presented to help athletes continue developing their game.
In addition to creating content on-site, I've worked remotely updating graphics, editing videos, organizing digital assets, and assisting with a variety of projects across the Midwest region. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to continue growing as a content creator while expanding my knowledge of baseball analytics, recruiting, and player development. I can't wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store!
