The Team
This summer, I'm a Marketing and Client Services intern within the football division at The·Team (formerly Wasserman), a global sports and entertainment agency in Los Angeles. My work centers on media relations and brand partnerships for NFL clients
Early on I focused on media outreach, researching local journalists and sending emails to promote youth football camps the NFL players host in their hometown. From there my role expanded into brand partnerships and PR for our clients: researching brands and companies that align with a client's interests like golf, fashion, art; pitching collaborations, and closing my first deals for players with brands they're excited about.
Beyond pitching, I've designed welcome cards for the training camp gift boxes that get sent to clients each year using Adobe Photoshop. I've also gotten involved outside my role, supporting a Pride event with the culture and inclusion team and connecting with people across departments through informational chats.
Some of my best learning has come from conversations, whether it's the Global Communications Director, or the Coordinator for Brand Partnerships in the music department. Those conversations, paired with hands-on pitching and brand strategy work, have shown me what drives this business.
This internship confirmed that I want to be in the entertainment industry, specifically in marketing and brand strategy. Working in Los Angeles this summer has shown me how much I'd love to build my career here, whether that's staying with The·Team or landing somewhere else in the city at an entertainment agency doing PR and marketing. Seeing how The Team balances media relations, talent management, and partnerships all at once has given me a much clearer picture of where I want to head after graduation.
