General Manager


Ft. Riley, strong school systems, and thriving Main Streets. We are looking for someone who will be committed to the communities and region, and willing to grow Eagle operations by supporting local businesses and institutions. 

Business acumen isn’t the only thing that will allow our next General Manager to succeed. Culture in our employee-owned company is of the upmost importance. You’ll be leading a group of professionals who exemplify what it means to be an employee-owner. 

This position is in our Manhattan and Junction City, KS market with stations KJCK(AM), KJCK(FM), KQLA(FM), KQLA(HD-2) as well as our leading online news services Little Apple Post and JC Post.

There is a lot of opportunity in this market with powerful stations, award winning on-air and programming talent, and an experienced sales team. We are looking for a hands-on leader with proven success in the media industry. 

Salary: $60,000-$80,000

Experience:

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Directing the day-to-day efforts of a 4-radio station cluster with significant news/information and digital presence. 
  • This position oversees all aspects of station operations: sales, marketing/promotions, programming/operations, and administration.
  • Community focused – developing relationships with partners/clients in the community.

Requirements:

Experience and Requirements: 

  • Qualified candidates must have a proven history of developing leaders, exceeding financial/budgetary goals.
  • Hiring, training and motivating sales talent.
  • Media sales management experience in a comparable market is preferred.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, leadership experience, and an extreme desire to succeed are essential to success.
  • The selected candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, be goal-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Communication experience on-air, writing, and public speaking is preferred.
  • Experience with Marketron and VCreative is beneficial.
