
JMW registration information
What different options are there for JMW?
Our workshop strives to include students in the five days on KU's campus, regardless of their needs and person circumstances. For that reason, you will see many different ways of structuring the camp, in terms of tuition, overnight stays and tribal affiliation.
Registration costs
- Early Registration: $425 per student (before May 4)
- Regular Registration: $475 per student (between May 4 and May 24)
Other details
- Deposit: $175 per student due June 1
- Nonrefundable fee: $25 per student before June 1; $175 per student after June 1
The student experience
- Stay in the dorms at the University of Kansas with your fellow workshop students and learn from the best journalism instructors around. For five days, you will learn new skills that will prepare you for a great year on your publication's staff.
- What's included?
- Four nights lodging
- Meals from Sunday evening through Thursday morning
- Instruction from award-winning teachers for five days
- Access to technology and equipment through the KU School of Journalism
- Jayhawk Media Workshop t-shirt

- Social activities in the evening

- Registration Deadline: May 24, 2022
- Price: $300 per adviser, plus lodging expenses at Hampton Inn, if necessary
Other costs
- Deposit: $175 per adviser due May 31, 2022
- Refund fee: $25 per adviser before May 31, 2022; $175 per student after May 31, 2022
The adviser experience
- Join the workshop's instructors in staying at the Hampton Inn while enrolling in one of our eleven course options.
- Or, advisers can enroll in the Adviser session to learn from fellow teachers and an expert teacher who will lead the Jayhawk Media Workshop adviser session.
- Advisers will need to arrange and pay for their own lodging outside of the workshop's registration fee. (Lodging through KU's residence hall is not an option for advisers attending the workshop.)

The Native Storytelling workshop is a multimedia workshop and the first of its kind at the University of Kansas (KU).
