Marketing and Communications Intern

Position overview
The KJCCC remote intern will play a vital role in supporting the KJCCC's efforts to enhance brand visibility, drive fan engagement, and assist in the archiving of historical conference content. This internship offers the opportunity to work with current undergraduate students remotely, allowing students to carry a full-course load at their college/university while completing assigned work that fits within their schedule. The internship can be crafted toward a student focused, including but no limited to graphic design/photography, social media management, website content creation and media relations, and feature writing. Weekly Zoom meetings to provide feedback and ensure that assigned tasks are being completed also allow for the intern to remain in communication with the internship supervisor as part of the internshp, while gaining valuable insights into the world of athletic communications at the collegiate level.
Key responsibilities
• Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of weekly content produced by the KJCCC, including weekly top 25 polls, conference and national players of the week, and daily conference scoreboard posts to social media pages.
• Support digital and social media initiatives by creating content calendars, drafting posts, and monitoring engagement.
• Archiving of KJCCC history, including research of past years and creation of new web pages using PrestoSports Content Management System.
• Collaborate with member schools and NJCAA National Office staff to assist in the creation of releases and promotional materials of KJCCC student-athletes.
• Provide administrative support for the KJCCC (commissioner and assistant commissioner) as needed.
Qualifications
• Current student at four-year college/university in Kansas majoring in sports management, communications or a related field
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook
• Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
