Biography

Alex Treaster joins the school in Fall 2022 as an assistant professor of the practice. Treaster is a strategic communicator whose experience includes working with media, nonprofit organizations, political campaigns and corporate clients. Previously, he served for 10 years as the Director of Communications and Community Partnerships for Second Presbyterian Church in Kansas City, Missouri, helping that community amplify its voice and develop relationships with other leading nonprofit organizations in the greater Kansas City area. Treaster also has taught as an adjunct professor for Avila University's course on Sports, Media and Popular Culture. He graduated from KU in 2008 with a bachelor's degree in visual communication and in 2018 with a master's degree in integrated marketing communication from KU's Edwards Campus. He lives in Overland Park with his wife, Lindsay, and son, Brooks.
