Biography

Nick Jungman is director of strategy for the University Daily Kansan, KU’s award-winning, student-led news organization. His 30-year career in editing and education includes 13 years at The Wichita Eagle, where he was copy desk chief and deputy editor for interactive. He’s also worked with The Dallas Morning News, the Tampa Bay Times, the Wichita Business Journal, and the universities of Missouri and Oklahoma, among several others. He is a consultant and speaker on the topics of editing, student media and interactive journalism. He is a member of the board of directors of ACES: The Society for Editing, an international organization dedicated to supporting and educating editors in a variety of industries. He is also a past president of the Western Association of University Publications Managers, a consortium of the leading collegiate media organizations in the United States.
