Sales and Promotions Intern

Semester long practicum in the Sales and Promotions department of Great Plains Media in Lawrence (105.9 KISS FM, 1320 KLWN AM/101.7FM and 92.9 The Bull.

Available for class credit.

Intern under supervision of Warner Lewis, director of sports marketing. General manager Spike Santee will also help supervise.

Schedule determined by class requirements and station needs. All designed to provide a meaningful experience.

Intern will attend sales and promotions meetings, assist sales reps with proposals, client research, commercial copywriting, running errands and assigned and any other duties assigned.

Interns will go on selected outside sales calls and/or phone/video sales calls directly with clients or advertising agencies.

They will attend and assist station personnel with a wide variety of station promotions such as remotes from private businesses, sports event appearances like KU games, concert appearances, etc., including some weekends.

They will assist promotions and programming department from time to time with projects/assignments to help in those areas.

Dress is business-casual unless otherwise instructed.
