Video Production and Content Creation Intern

We are actively seeking talented students at KU to join HoopsHype (part of the USA TODAY Sports Media Group) as a remote, part-time Video Production and Digital Media Intern.

This is a unique, hands-on opportunity for students passionate about basketball to gain entry-level experience and earn college credit.

Interns gain real experience editing and producing professional basketball content for YouTube and social channels, with opportunities for on-camera hosting. They can also request credentialed access to cover local games as digital producers.

This is an unpaid, credit-eligible internship designed to help students build a portfolio, earn industry-recognized credentials, and work directly with a national sports brand. The role offers flexibility, creative freedom, and the chance to pitch and execute their own basketball stories across NBA, WNBA, international, and draft coverage.

The Role: Video Production & Content Creation Intern

In this role, students will:

• Edit dynamic basketball content for our YouTube and social media channels.
• Create and pitch their own video ideas covering the NBA, WNBA, overseas leagues, and the draft.
• Gain real-world experience producing content for a major sports media brand.

We can also request credentials for basketball events local to them.
